Welcome back to SAU!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School year!

It was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces of staff, students and family today!  It looks like everyone is happy to be back!  September is always a busy time getting to know new teachers, classmates and routines.  As we move forward, I will be seeking input from teachers, EA's and parents regarding Term 1 IEP's.  Consultation forms will be coming home with your child next week.  Please complete at your convenience and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or comments!  I am looking forward to continued collaboration to ensure the success of your children!  Welcome Back!

Sunshine Day Camps

Adoption Council of Ontario

The 2nd opportunity is an event hosted by Adoption Council of Ontario (ACO) on Saturday, May 4th, from 9am - 2 pm.  The focus will be "Creating School Communities of Well-being".   Note, this event is not only for adoptive parents, as the flyer states, trauma comes in many forms, such as an illness, divorce, death of a loved one, moving cities/schools, car accident/fire, etc.  This event is also free!

Wildlife Show

This Saturday, March 30th, the Wildlife Show at the EY Centre will open one hour earlier, at 9 am, for children who have sensory issues. It also states that there will be no charge for these children!

IEP Reporting

Your child's IEP will accompany his/her first term report card which will be sent home on Thursday, February 14, 2019.  If your child has any alternative programming pages, the assessment for these expectations will be located on the IEP.  All other subject areas will be reported on the Provincial Report Card.  Teachers and the Resource teacher will be consulting on Term 2 expectations which will be sent home on Thursday, February 28, 2019.  Please contact Mrs. James if you have any questions, concerns or comments.
